YOUTH
SERVICES

Young people, aged 13 to 25 that have a friend, a sibling, a partner or a parent living with mental health issues can experience strong negative emotions. They can feel ashamed, depressed helpless, frustrated, sad, worried, alone and guilty… In addition, young people struggling with mental health tend to talk about it with their friends, putting more young people in a caregiving context. The youth services consider the specific challenges that young people can experience while supporting a friend or a family member that lives with mental health issues.

PSYCHOSOCIAL INTERVENTION

Follow-ups offer young people a safe space to express themselves without judgment, and to be welcomed in their experiences and emotions. Individual follow-up for young people is possible in person or virtually (Zoom). We offer flexibility in terms of duration and frequency to accommodate young people's reality as much as possible. MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS

Mental health awareness workshops are offered in environments that support young people. Objectives include defining mental health and associated disorders, distinguishing between the different types of mental health disorders, identifying myths and realities, understanding what attitudes to adopt as a loved one, and selecting the right help resources.

KIOSK

A kiosk can be set up in the town square or cafeteria at lunchtime or during themed events. A Kahoot quiz is included to make it fun!

PODCAST

In collaboration with La puce à l'oreille we have developed a Podcast by and for young family members, with the aim of offering them a space to express themselves. The podcast is in two parts, and highlights the experiences of three young girls with their loved ones. They talk frankly about the difficulties they faced in their role and the resources that helped them. Listen to the first podcast episode. Listen to the second podcast episode
