Youth Services
Young people, aged 13 to 25 that have a friend, a sibling, a partner or a parent living with mental health issues can experience strong negative emotions. They can feel ashamed, depressed helpless, frustrated, sad, worried, alone and guilty… In addition, young people struggling with mental health tend to talk about it with their friends, putting more young people in a caregiving context. The youth services consider the specific challenges that young people can experience while supporting a friend or a family member that lives with mental health issues.

Psychosocial counselling

You can gain a better understanding of mental health problems, develop self-care strategies, set boundaries, clarify your role, and determine your scope of influence. These sessions provide young people with a safe environment where they can express themselves without judgment, discuss their experiences and explore their emotions. One-on-one youth counselling sessions may be attended in-person or on Zoom. The frequency and duration of these sessions are based on the needs and availability of participants.
Extern Services
Mental health workshops
We offer mental health awareness workshops in supportive settings for young people. Objectives include defining mental health and related disorders, distinguishing between different types of mental health disorders, separating myth from reality, identifying healthy attitudes to adopt as a friend or family member, and finding the right support resources.
Creative expression workshops
These workshops seek to improve the psychological and social well-being of young people. Participants are given opportunities to express themselves and share their personal experiences through creative activities in a safe space. Role-playing, storytelling and improvisation are all used as tools for self-exploration. The topics addressed include mental health and the resources that are available for people whose loved ones are living with mental health issues. This service is offered to youth in school settings.
