Arborescence,
support organization for caregivers in mental health
Arborescence is a Montreal non-profit organization that offers information, support, accompaniment and tools to the loved ones of a person living with a mental health issue (with or without a diagnosis).
We have opted for two complementary intervention approaches: psychosocial intervention and family peer support.
Our premises are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Our services are available in several languages. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us .
The services
youth
Young caregivers, aged between 12 and 25, experience strong negative emotions when a sibling, romantic partner or parent is dealing with a mental health issue. This can lead to feelings of shame, depression, helplessness, frustration, sadness, worry, loneliness and guilt, among other things. Also, young people with mental health issues tend to confide in their friends, leading many young people to be in a helping position. Youth services make it possible to consider the specific issues facing young caregivers.
