Caregivers senior

The “helping in balance” project is support in your reality as a member of the entourage of an aging loved one who lives with a mental health issue (diagnosed or not).

Follow-up care: access to personalized sessions with a counselor as part of psychosocial follow-up care. The goal of follow-up care is to gain perspective on the situation, assess it more effectively, and change one’s outlook on oneself and the future. Follow-up also helps the families and loved ones of an older adult with a mental health condition become aware of their own needs, their loved one’s strengths, and the possibilities for better navigating daily life and the future. Since follow-up is a service focused on “empowerment,” participants are equipped to cope with their situation and reclaim their role in the relationship.

Self-help groups: designed to break down isolation by providing opportunities to meet others who have an older loved one living with a mental health condition. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and exchange advice with others facing similar situations. A facilitator supports participants during the sessions. These group sessions allow members to break out of isolation, foster mutual support, and discuss their own experiences. Facilitated by an Arborescence staff member. To view our schedule, click here.

Lectures: Public lectures provide up-to-date information on a variety of topics tailored to the realities faced by those caring for older adults.
