About the event
Serge TRACY is an author, speaker, and trainer. Ambassador for the Quebec Voice Hearing Network (REV québécois) since 2016, he shares his experience of over 25 years related to the phenomenon of hearing voices and other unusual perceptions.
His lecture is an immersion into his daily life as a voice hearer. Serge shares his personal experience from the perspective of his life as a close relative of a mother struggling with significant mental health difficulties, then as a spouse and father. Drawing on certain childhood traumas, he emphasizes that voices carry meaning linked to his personal history. He explains, among other things, how voices come in a variety of forms, then he relates different beliefs that voice hearers may manifest to represent the world of voices.
Serge testifies to the colossal contribution of participating in a voice hearing group and experiencing his recovery with the support of his loved ones and his counselors. He also presents different coping strategies that help him live better with the voices . This conference includes examples of different ways of acting to help him and accompany him on a daily basis. Above all, he shows us the considerable place that his loved ones take in his recovery process. He also compares them to "preventative bumpers" for maintaining his mental balance.
Serge's goal is to maximize the quality of the relationship between a person struggling with mental health difficulties, their loved ones, and their caregivers. You are invited to visit his website at: https://www.sergetracy.com/ .
